Plagiarism. And consequently Writer's Block.

I sit in front of the computer, back straight. And start to think. Think of all those thoughts that have struck me throughout the week. My fingers wiggle hesitantly over the keyboard as I close my eyes for a second. My mind focuses on one idea, only to realise that its already been used. Then the next. And the next. My fingers start getting a little cold at the tips. I open my eyes, as the bright monitor start to hurt my eyes mildly. By now, I've given up hope on writing anything.

It seems almost poetic that the first true post of this blog should be about plagiarism. You see, the sort of plagiarism that I've become the victim of, isn't quite your normal sort of plagiarism. Normal sort of plagiarism is when: You write something. It gets published(or alternatively, you publish it) and some bugger rips it off entirely. That sort of plagiarism is wrong, yes. But its sort of become common.

The plagiarism I suffer from is a sort of conversational plagiarism. I have an interesting conversation with someone. I give MY thoughts on something fun(ny). We have a good laugh about it. I go to sleep, wake up in the morning and surf the net and 'HEY! Its right there on somebody's blog! My thoughts! All very neatly adapted to his/her style. And so I can't say nor do anything.

But the worst type of plagiarism is telepathic plagiarism. I THINK of something original and creative. And some bugger steals it from my mind. Rips it straight out of my brain. And its probably happened to you as well. You just know you thought of that before said person wrote it.

And this 'plagiaristic' explosion justs burns up all that fuel in you. And thats what leads to my writer's block. Its not my fault that I have writer's block! I have this unique 'market-induced writer's block'. I don't have control over it. It just eats into my fingers.

This is precisely what forced my previous blog into deletion as well! I started off feeling highly motivated and full of myself, only to end up feeling like a dump. The blog stagnated for a very long time and I was forced to continue its sorry existence with stupid movie reviews. Eventually, it proved too monotonous for me and I just killed it.

Thus, this blog was reborn. And this time around I shall not be a fool and shall update the blog atleast once a week. Ok, once in two weeks. And I shall not suffocate this blog with repugnant reviews of books and movies. That shall be a separate blog, to be started on a later date.
I sign off.

You just plagiarized my sidebar. You also plagiarized the tone of my first post. At least don't plagiarize this comment.

Hey, this is actually a very good post. Good clarity of thought. Only thing is that it says "my wiggle over the keyboard", which just doesn't make sense.

nWhatever he means, he definitely does not intend to comment on my newfound literary talent. And neither do you.

Ohhh now I get it. You're both phenylketoneurics.

Yes. And you suffer from Klinefelter's.

Ok that was mean. Sorry.

Ironically, I've felt and thought of every little thing you've mentioned in this post.

Crap, at least now, you get to be the one plagiarizing ...
